Tips on how to keep the house clean when having a cat

Cats are wonderful pets to have around your house. However, between the cat hair tumbleweed, litter trails, and occasional bodily fluid accidents it can be challenging to keep up with the mess. Here are some tips that will help you keep a house clean even if you share it with a cat!
1) Brush their fur
To control the amount of hair sticking to clothes, furniture, and carpets it’s advised to take better care of your cat’s hair. This means brushing your feline daily if they have long fur and weekly for those with less hair. This will help not only control the amount of hair in your home but also prevent your pet from swallowing hair, which can cause them vomiting and constipation.
2) Vacuum often
Regular grooming is helpful but there will still be hairs floating around. Therefore, you’ll have to vacuum the house more often when living with a cat, and even more if you have more than 1 pet. Besides hair, cats can also drag dust, crumbs, and soil, so vacuuming helps the dirt from spreading around.
3) Beware of the litter box
Cats are clean creatures and do everything they can to hide the smell from their natural functions. They dig holes in the sand and bury away their business, so the litter box usually starts to smell only if it is not scooped regularly. Make sure to also sweep around the litter box every now and place it on tiles or hard floors.
4) Take care of stains ASAP
Deal with stains like urine or vomit quickly in order to prolong the life of your furniture. Old pet stains are more difficult to remove than fresh ones, so try to act as soon as possible.
