Renovations are oftentimes exciting, as every day becomes closer to the final masterpiece. Depending on the severity of the renovations it can be a long or short period, nevertheless, once it’s done it is important to ensure it is 100% as you expected it. Like any work of art, some final touches are needed to fully enjoy the piece. Here are some things to do after a remodel or renovation. 

Create a Maintenance Checklist

It might be the case that new materials were added to your home. For example a stone surface to your kitchen or bathroom, new wooden details or furniture pieces, etc. You might not be familiar with the care each new piece needs. Create a list of the list with all the questions you have regarding how to give each new piece its proper maintenance. Then ask your contractor or professional cleaning service what steps to take in terms of conservation and care.

Depending on the nature of the renovation, new furniture might be needed to go in hand with the new style. Maybe you are changing from rustic to modern and the past furniture is outdated with the new style. Shopping for new furniture that fits the new interior will be a fun thing to do! New doesn’t always mean brand new, you can shop vintage, second-hand, or even try for DIY to save money. 

Clean/Dust the area

Last but not least comes the cleaning. After remodeling it can be very hard to get rid of all the debris, dust, the general mess left behind. Many times remodeling contractors will clean after the mess, but it might just be a superficial cleaning. It is recommended to opt for a professional post-construction or renovation cleaning company as doing this yourself is not recommended since it can take many intensive hours. A cleaning company will know all the does and don’t of cleaning after remodeling, welcoming you, your family, or your staff into a brand new, clean, and fresh place. 

Having a home or office renovation takes time, planning, and execution.
